چکیده

The continuous technological advance and increasing availability of new dental self adhesive resin cement in the market, coupled to the demands of daily clinical practice, have made the determine mechanical properties. This study evaluated the shear bond strength of ceramics cemented by three different dental self-adhesive resin cements. Shear bond strength was measured with an Instron servo hydraulic testing machine by applying parallel shear forces to the specimens until fracture. Special tools were made for testing cylinder specimens (10 mm high; 3 mm diameter). In the paper, we explain the testing, measuring and calculative techniques. The results showed that etching with 4.9% HF acid is most effective for Variolink II cement (31.19±8.66), whereas sandblasting with Al2O3 particles of IPS e.max ceramic specimens obtained results in favour of Relyx Unicem (35.14±5.91) and Panavia F (25.56±5.21) cements.

Bonding of self-adhesive resin cements to enamel using different surface treatments: bond strength and etching pattern evaluations.

This study evaluated the shear bond strengths and etching patterns of seven self-adhesive resin cements to human enamel specimens which were subjected to one of the following surface treatments: (1) Polishing with #600 polishing paper; (2) Phosphoric acid; (3) G-Bond one-step adhesive; or (4) Phosphoric acid and G-Bond. After surface treatment, the human incisor specimens were bonded to a resin...

Effect of glycine pretreatment on the shear bond strength of a CAD/CAM resin nano ceramic material to dentin.

BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of glycine pretreatment on the shear bond strength between dentin and a CAD/CAM resin nano ceramic material (LavaTM Ultimate Restorative), bonded together with adhesive cements using three different luting protocols (total-etch; self-etch; self-adhesive). MATERIAL AND METHODS Thirty cylinders were milled from resin nano ceramic b...

Evaluation of the Effect of Sodium Hypochlorite Irrigant on Pull-out Bond Strength of FRC Posts Using Different Resin Cements

Introduction: To evaluate the effects of using sodium hypochlorite irrigant on pull-out bond strength of self-etch and self-adhesive resin cements to dentin. Methods: Sixty intact premolars were decoronated and the root canals were prepared by step-back technique. The teeth were divided into two groups according to the irrigant used during root canal treatment: 5.25% sodium hypochlorite and nor...
